夏、私の肌をジッと焼きつける太陽を見つめ咲いている向日葵を見つけた。頭を垂れた向日葵は儚く朽ちていく段階だが、 葉と茎は力強く立っていた。土壌、茎、重力、日光を欲する葉の力で支え合い生きる向日葵達。人は一人では生きられない。向日葵を見て思い浮かんだ何かは観た人の分だけの向日葵が存在する。そして背景も広がって行く。

In the summertime, I found blooming sunflowers, staring at the Sun that was burning my skin. I saw a drooping　sunflower that was in the process of withering away, but its stem and leaves remained standing strong. Sunflowers live and survive thanks to the soil, the gravity of the Earth, the sunflower’s stem, and the sunflower’s sunlight-hungry leaves, all working together in harmony. Likewise, a person cannot live alone- we rely on others to survive,　be it people or things. When I see sunflowers, I feel as though there are as many sunflowers as people who have seen them; and so, the scenery continues to expand outward.
