切子ガラスの製造過程で生じる廃棄副産物「カブ」。

野菜の蕪に形状が似ていることから「カブ」もしく「カブラ」と呼ばれていますが、世間ではその名どころか存在すら知られていません。

捨てられてしまう存在とはいえ、多彩なクリスタルガラスの美しさと個性的な形状を備え持つ「カブ」は一つとして同じものはなく、 デザインされたものでもありません。

「KABURA KIRIKO」は、その「カブ」の魅力を最大限に生かしながら、伝統工芸から生み出される廃棄副産物を今までにない視点から 価値のあるものへと再生させることで、環境負荷の軽減を図るとともに、日本の切子ガラス文化の繁栄とガラス産業のその100年先の 未来を繋ぐ一助となるような新たなる価値の創造に挑戦していきます。


“Kabu” is a by-product created during the Kiriko cut glass manufacturing process.

Named after its resemblance to a turnip, these rounded forms have long gone unnoticed and were often discarded.
Yet each piece holds the clarity and radiance unique to crystal glass — no two are ever the same.

They are not designed, but naturally formed through the act of craftsmanship itself : spontaneous expressions of light, color, and shape.

KABURA KIRIKO reimagines the hidden beauty of Kabu,
transforming what was once considered waste into renewed value. By shining a light on these overlooked creations, we aim to reduce environmental impact while carrying Japan’s Kiriko glass tradition into the future.
