Koyodo Museum of Art

In September, 2005, Koyodo Museum of Art located in Chino city, Nagano was donated to the Kyoto University of Art and Design from the bereaved family of the late Yasuo Satori, President of Satori Electric, Co., Ltd. The museum exhibits the collection of Japanese paintings and oil paintings Mr. Satori had been collecting for over 40 years. The university plans to get the maximum benefit from this art museum that holds in its possession approximately 370 paintings of such renowned modern painters as Taikan Yokoyama and Kaoru Yamaguchi. The museum is used to enrich the correspondence education program, such as practical training for museum curator licenses and landscape sketching classes, utilizing the natural environment of Tateshina Heights Plateau.
